The RPM80 Pro would be damn near perfect if they included one of their MTL coil options in the kit and solved the slight leaking problem. The RGC pod/coils do tend to leak a little, especially as the coil starts to degrade or e-liquid is left in it for a little while without using. With a 5ml e-juice capacity, the pods are really easy to re-fill via a rubber plug at the top of the pod. Excellent coils, gives a great fresh taste for around 5-7days, and I’m an ex smoker who vapes from the second I wake up till just before sleeping.

Equipped with the brand new IQ-80 chipset, the SMOK RPM80 Pod Mod has upgraded many of the components from the original RPM Series pioneer. If you have the means (and want the RPM80, we might suggest grabbing two, so you’re never left without power for very long). The adjustable airflow is exactly as you’d expect – wide open is super airy, closed off is a nice restrictive DTL. None of this matters if the flavor isn’t there, and thankfully, SMOK didn’t cut corners in this department.

The airflow on the RGC pod is a great addition and I love that SMOK have included RBA coil options for both pods. If you’re using either the LG HG2 or HE4, both of these models will be fine as they’re 20A/30A batteries.

Just below the adjustable wattage buttons is the USB charging port and a sliding hinged latch at the bottom of the RPM80 Pro opens to take an external 18650 battery. Every so often you get a dud that’ll last only a couple of days before it burns but this is few and far between. While the RPM80 isn’t going to make you forget that 200-watt rig with the HorizonTech Falcon on top, sub-ohm vapers are going to find an awful lot to like in this supposed “pod mod. The excellent SMOK RPM80 Pod System – Can we all agree that once a device exceeds 75 watts, it’s no longer a “ pod mod,” and rather a pod-enabled, coil-driven, full-on vape device?

This sub ohm coil boasts a conical mesh structure, meaning e-liquid is heated at a faster rate than standard coils, resulting in enhanced flavour and cloud production. From power to flavor to ridiculous vapor production, the RPM80 might be the best crossover in a long while. Above the firing button is an airflow slot, with a second in the same position on the back of the device.
